District Missionary

Born in Henderson,Texas as the 11th child 7th daughter to Roosevelt and Maudie Gossett on May 11, 1954. In November of 1954 the family relocated to TUCSON, AZ.  The Gossett family united with Mt. Olive COGIC under the pastor Bishop E  J. Taylor. 

Graduated with Honors from Tucson High School and Pima Community College studying business and social studies.  Activities were tennis, swim team, modern dance, cheer and drill team.

Under the leadership of Bishop E. J. Taylor she served as Sunday School and YPWW secretaries  She attended Sunshine Band, Purity Class, YWCC sessions and events, Youth and Adult choir director and participated in all church activities. She moved from Tucson to Los Angeles for 8 years and attended church under watch care of Bishop Bimbo in Santa Monica California. She attended LA Community College and was employed at Purex Corporation.  Her mother called her on e day and told her to come home you been gone long enough. She obeyed and soon after surrendering to God was saved and Holy Ghost filled during a 15 week  prayer meeting conducted by her mother. She was baptized in water at the local park’s swimming  pool. 

A few years later she moved to Phoenix and joined Emmanuel COGIC under the leadership of Bishop Felton King. The teachings corrections and assignments given were lifelong and are appreciated even today. Bishop King taught us that we cannot sit our way to heaven. I was encouraged to work in the kingdom of God and was appointed President of Sunshine Band for quite a number of years. She was chosen by the late Earnestine Cleveland Reems to serve on the weekly prayer team at Emmanuel. She taught Prayer and Bible Band class for a few years. 

She was chosen and called by God to minister His Holy Word and to cry loud and spare not! She conducted revivals, prayer meetings, choir and Sunshine Band workshops and concerts. 

Missionary Sells married Deacon Willie Sells February 19, 1994 and united with Paradise COGIC Superintendent Raymond Walker Sr. And again she was Sunshine Band President. The number of  children increased rapidly. Pastor Walker appointed her President of the entire Youth Dept which were about 60 in number. She began a Youth Choir and it grew and grew. Prayer meetings the youth received salvation, deliverance, and the Holy Ghost with the speaking of tongues. Praise dancers, praise team leaders, ministers and missionaries were born out of this group. Many of the youth are now young pastors, psalmists, choir directors, missionaries, First Ladies, and evangelists.  All GLORY to God!

Later her family united with Greater New Bethel COGIC under the pastorage of Superintendent David C. McNeal to this present day. She was appointed President of Women In Ministry, Youth Choir president and Adult choir director. She currently serves at praise team director and a member of the Pastoral Anniversary planning committee. She was elevated to District Missionary of Shiloh and currently holds this position. 

On the Jurisdiction level she serves as district missionary under the leadership of Supervisor Emma Bowen. She assists the Supervisor with planning and executing services and events. She is a regular attendee to the International Womens Department traveling to and fro. She also has attended our International Holy Convocation for many years. 

District Missionary Sells is available willing and able to serve God’s people in any way. All glory, honor and praise belongs to God.  I am a devout servant and soldier in God’s army. I am saved sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost and fire. I wholeheartedly believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
